Congress minister booked in murder case

Union minister and Congress leader Mahavir Prasad has been charged with murder and attempting to destroy evidence.

The case was lodged on the directions of the Allahabad High Court under section 120B IPC (conspiracy) against 69-year-old Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises at Gagha police station in Gorakhpur.

A woman named Subhawati filed the case on Tuesday, alleging that Mahavir and two of his associates — Rajesh Singh and Gauri Prasad — had conspired to murder her husband Ramprakat, who was run over by a jeep near Gagha on January 28 last year. The jeep is registered in Mahavir’s name.

“The jeep, which allegedly crushed Ramprakat is registered in the name of the minister and was attached with a school,” said Additional DGP (Law and Order) Brij Lal.

Rajesh Singh is the gram pradhan of Ujjarpur village, to which the victim also belongs, and had a long-standing land dispute with him. Gauri Prasad is a relative of the minister.

After Ramprakat’s death, his son Ghanshyam had lodged a complaint, following which the driver of the jeep, Rambadan, was traced and arrested, Lal said. But Subhawati was not satisfied.

In her complaint, she alleged that Mahavir and his associates were behind the killing. Instead of approaching

the police, Subhawati directly petitioned the district court, which turned her away. She then moved the high court, which admitted her writ, directing the district police to investigate the matter.

“The case is politically motivated. It has absolutely no basis,” said Mahavir.

In a bid to garner support for its agitation against amendments in the CrPC, Delhi Bar Association has threatened to cancel the chambers and seats of any advocate who is unable to attend the protest at Parliament House on February 18.

In a notice circulated at Tis Hazari court complex, the association has warned advocates from finding any excuse for not taking part in the agitation.

The notice issued by Rajiv Khosla, president, Delhi Bar Association reads: “Those (Advocates) who are found to be absent will be considered to be supporting the stand of the government, and as such we will be constrained to strike off their names and cancel all facilities provided by the bar, which includes chambers and seats.”

The notice further states that no one will be exempted, including women lawyers, who generally avoid participating in the activities of the Bar.

The notice also says that for the agitation at Parliament House, no advocate would be allowed to use his/her personal car. The association has earmarked buses on the basis of chamber and seats in each block.

Continuing on their stand, the association have demanded that all advocates strike work on that day and take part in the protest, rather than a holiday. No advocate would be allowed to do any household or professional work while their colleagues demonstrate on road, the note read.

The lawyers are protesting against the amendments in Section 41 and 309 of CrPC giving discretionary powers to police to arrest or not to arrest a person accused in case facing imprisonment upto seven years.

via : IndiaGlitz

Make way for the world's first Virtual Movie House. Indiaglitz proudly presents onlycinema.com, the first and only one of its kind. The film that will take its rightful place in history by playing in this theater is the recently released ‘Manjeera’ that is making waves amongst Telugu movie audiences.

Patrons from across the globe (except India) can use this facility to watch brand new films as they get released. Efforts are currently on to get this facility to people residing in India as well, but then the process could take a while before it is implemented.

How does the Virtual Theater work?

Patrons can log on to onlycinema.com and visit the booking office where tickets can be purchased. A terrific advantage with this facility is that one ticket is all you need for your entire family or group of friends. The price of the ticket is $10.

You can either book your tickets for immediate watching (current booking) or book tickets for a specified time (advance booking). This Virtual Theater benefits you with the comfort of home. Patrons will definitely feel like watching the film in a theater because many norms of physically being in a theater will have to be adhered to. Patrons cannot Pause the film. There would be no interval break initially but this facility will be made available soon.

Once patrons book tickets, an email would be dispatched with a ticket number at once. Patrons will then have to type in the ticket number to gain entry into the Virtual Theater. The film will start exactly at the appointed time. (Please Note: Late comers will have to watch the film as it continues playing. So be on time).

Brand new films will be released in this Virtual Theater on a consistent basis. 'Manjeera' starring Gowtham and Sridevi, directed by Saibhanu is getting released now. The Tamil film 'Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu' is already running successfully in the online theater. Watch out for more upcoming releases soon.

This Virtual Theater by Indiaglitz is yet another example of using technology for the benefit and convenience of society.

Join us as we make history….after all, when it comes to Indiaglitz….it's showtime….anytime.

Vijay fans shut down fan site

via : IndiaGlitz
In what can be termed a drastic move, a group of students who were running actor Vijay's official fan website have decided to close shop as they declare that they have not been supported at all. According to them other people take credit for their work and that the actor doesn't seem interested much as the required material support never reach them. Here's what VFN (Vijay Fans Network) declared.

Dear Fans,

We have to mention this with huge disappointment that we are closing down Vijay Fans Network (VFN). We are extremely disappointed at taking this step but we are forced to do it because we have not been getting the required material support (official and exclusive news, exclusive stills, etc) from the officials of Vijay's office. We started off a site that would run based on the support that it got from them, which we have almost stopped receiving off late. We are also very much hurt at the ways by which people try to take credit for whatever work that we have done for this site. We as a network of students have built this fans network without any financial support from everyone (and we are willing to continue without any financial support) but we are not willing in any way to give a part of the credit that we deserve for our work. There are some people out there who do not want Vijay to progress forward and we feel that we are not fit enough to fight out a battle with them. We tried to salvage this site as much as possible but it has now gone beyond our control that we want to give it up once and for all. We have our own lives to take care of and we are now planning to move ahead with our lives. We will still remain diehard fans of Vijay but we will only continue watching and enjoying his films.

We would like to thank all the fans who have supported us throughout the time that we were running this site. We will still cherish those moments when our site was its peak. We wish Vijay all the very best on his future.

By,
VFN Administration Team
